Seville
Thinking of nipping over to Seville for a few days to chill out and gorge myself on Tapas and fine wines.

Anyone been? Tips would be welcome.

Seville is alright, but the best place in Andalucía by far is Granada. Get a coach there if you can.great night out, free tapas, the Alhambra, the gitano caves

Cheers guys, I just want a relaxing few days, do a bit of sightseeing and clear my noggin of crap for a while.
I can almost taste the Iberico ham and hear the guitars now.

Re: Seville
I'd recommend going to Plaza de Espana. The Plaza is larger than I thought it would be and it is easily the most beautiful Plaza I have seen in Spain and one of the most beautiful I've seen in all of Europe.

We came in the late afternoon. It was quite hot and in the Plaza area, there isn't much shade.

You can easily spend an hour walking it from end to end (inside, outside, and the balcony).

Re: Seville
Totally agree that it's one of the best cities in Europe. Really laid back and relaxed, small enough to be intimate but lots going on and the food and drink is excellent.
Obviously it depends how long you are around but we also took a couple of train trips to Cadiz and Cordoba.

It's in the 90's next week so don't ur forget factor 50..!

Some wonderful tapas restaurants around the Cathedral...just plot up there and take a stroll, u won't have to walk far for plenty of tapas & cerveza..

Re: Seville
Seville is on my list, but if you like this kind of thing, check out San , which is a great little place, by the sea, and tapas bars everywhere.

Re: Seville
Best city in Europe. Absolutely beautiful, small enough to get round in a few days, full of things to do.

As mentioned, in peak summer most days are 40+ degrees so even walking around is knackering

If you can stretch to it, stay at the Hotel Alfonso in the centre. It's pricey - £250-300 per night, but it's amazing and perfectly placed for everything.

Cheers Coffee

Don't mind the heat and have experienced Valencia during August before, so know what to expect.

Do fancy Alcazar and can see myself nibbling on Ablongidas whilst taking in a little flamenco. Pretty sure it would soothe my currently troubled soul no end.

Thanks mate, I don't want that happening again.

Re: Seville
Seriously, it's a great city - but gets VERY hot in summer. Splendid cathedral and Plaza de Espana. There's an interesting bullfighting museum and, of course, the Alcazar Gardens and much evidence of the Flamenco. Loads of tapas places.

Jerez is well worth a day out while you're there.

Avoid getting tricked into taking a transexual back to your hotel room by first asking them to throw a tennis ball overarm.
